Stepping into spring… In silence

Spring Equinox Hope

We’ve sprung forward with our clocks and pollen has officially taken over the air (source: my itchy eyes and scratchy throat). It can only mean one thing… Spring is here! Although seasonal shifts happen slowly over time, today’s equinox marks the first day of spring, and once again we will have equal amounts of daylight and nightfall as we move forward to longer days taking us into summer.

Seasons influence everything from the food we eat, the clothes we we wear, activities we plan and even the thoughts and goals we nourish. Just like anything else, our thoughts and life purpose shifts throughout the seasons. Our primal instinct follows the cycle of life similar to plants and animals, this cycle happens on many levels.

I’ve been thinking a lot about my thoughts (ironic, yes) and what I want to energize this spring. I couldn’t come up with many answers so I went for a walk and observed nature. Plants and animals don’t read blog posts and books to figure out how to function each day and within each season… They just know. They also aren’t chatting away and gluing themselves to screens, they are fairly silent.

My theory is we all know.. If we stop, sit, breathe, and listen.

I’m taking a lesson from my little creature friends and stepping into silence for the next 5 days.

Obviously I’m not going to ask you to do the same, unless you want to, but I will ask you to take 1 minute (just 1) to be still and breathe and listen to what your body telling you.

We’ll share notes next week! Happy spring equinox!
