Hi there! Welcome to my blog. I invite you to poke around and read more about what strikes your fancy. This blog is a reflection of my journey with food, movement, and meditation. The three pillars that I feel define WELL BEING. Why? Because one can eat on par with whatever dietary approach you feel works and exercise his/her ass off (literally) and lead an extremely stressful, disengaged, unhappy life and will NOT achieve his/her fitness goals. Same goes for the ultra meditator who lives a happy mindful life but eats extremely processed foods and never exercises ( its rare a mindful person can have this profile but let’s just imagine) and guess what this person also will NOT achieve his/her fitness goals.

The balance of life depends on what we EAT. And what we EAT is EVERYTHING we intake … through the mouth, the body,and the brain.

What is Nutritionize!  It’s not in the dictionary so here’s a quick and dirty definition to help you out.

nutrition (n): -  any substance or matter that, taken into a living organism,serves to sustain it in its existence,

promoting growth,replacing loss, and providing energy. - the act or process of nourishing or of being nourished

energize(v): - to give energy to; activate or invigorate:

nutritionize! (v) - to activate your nourishment and change your state of well- being through food, movement, and meditation.

My goal is to empower YOU to make more informed decisions about how and what you eat in order to look, feel, and perform better. How? By prescribing a nutrition program that’s right for you and only you.

Through years of research and education it boils down to one finding- there is NO one size fits all rule when it comes to optimal wellness. A number of factors ranging from what you eat to who you hang out with to your mental health, sleep, hydration, and more play a role in achieving the buns of steel and rock hard abs… Read more about the Nutritionize! approach

My name is Ritu (ree-thu), a Sanskrit word meaning the “changing of the seasons”.  I truly am my namesake, as you read my blog you will see that my philosophy is deeply embedded in constant change. There is no one size fits all approach to health and wellness.  I am always experimenting, observing and tweaking my diet and lifestyle based on what my body tells me (yes my body talks to me, yours does too) and what works for me. As you read my posts you’ll hear what I have to say and it will always be followed with “don’t take my word for it, try it yourself!” Because that data is better than ANY scientific study out there.

I am a public health specialist, a choice architect, a meditator, a health advocate, a runner, a yogini, a crossfitter, a bad ass novice cyclist, a writer, a philanthropist, a designista, a wineista, clothes and heels junkie, a girl with indian roots and a curious world traveler…

But really I am a human (like you), a primal woman on a journey… a journey to find balance through food, movement and mediation.  {welcome aboard… the more the merrier}

“Everyone everywhere has a story and if you are willing to listen they are willing to share. Our stories are deeply intertwined with our wellbeing and each other’s wellbeing. Every person that crosses my path adds to my story, another clue to the puzzle we call life. I continue to enjoy every moment of this adventure and grow through my experiences.”
